CHS shows highest gains in district in reading and math

Click here to see a chart with CHS MAP testing data in reading and math for the 2011-12 school year. Of 14 high schools in MPS, no other school demonstrated as much growth from fall to spring, or from 9th grade to 12th grade. We are so proud of these numbers. They let us know something we have always known - CHS is a high performing school with the hardest working students in town.

CHS has a new home

New address: 6700 N. 80th St. Milwaukee, WI 53223 - 414-393-3500

Note: Burroughs Middle School has closed and CHS has moved into the 1st and 2nd floors. CHS will continue to offer yellow bus transportation to all families who live 2 or more miles away from the Burroughs Campus.

Welcome to Community High School

Learning with a social conscience

Community High School's college-ready program starts with outstanding academics that challenge and motivate all students to reach their full potential. As a small, public, charter school, CHS tailors the currciculum for the individual student, preparing students for the 21st century economy. With an empowered and fully-certified teaching staff, Community High School students discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.

CHS students critically and creatively confront a reality filled with social, economic, and political contradictions through discussion, active participation in the community, and a comprehensive and college-preparatory curriculum.

The video below presents one small example of the huge opportunites you will find at CHS.
